Went to a lesbian dating seminar on Friday at the LGBT Center. It was interesting. For those of you who don't know, I have not dated women in years, but would like to. This seminar was very intersting, very dedicated women run the group and gave out tons of info including lesbian-friendly lawyers, GYN docs, STD safty kits, (HPV is "rampant" accordig to her, in the lesbian community) etc. But the round-table talk was the most useful. People are people and dating is dating. The same problems that come up in straight dating seem to be prevalant in lesbian dating. It just aint all that pretty out there, no matter what your sexual orientation. The silver lining in the scenario is: it reminds you to appreciate a good woman when you find her -- with all that implies, treating her well, doing your part to make the relationship work and just knowing "this is a good thing". I liked the group and will attend more events with them. Also, I won the door prize :)

HPV is rampant in all Communities and 'safer sex does little to stop it. It can be transmitted through simple touch.

Yeah, she mentioned that, and mentioned finger cots in the same breath, and had some there -- free give aways. I am not morally against open relastionships, casual relationships etc. However, I have huge issues with illnesses, do by best to avoid any and all as much as possible, and STDs come under that category. For that reason, I condone those one-on-one closed relationships. It's not a moral stance, it's a I don't want any dieseases that can be avoided stance.
